: Created:04 Nov 2009 , byIn last night's Thames Valley first division match, Ealing achieved an important victory over Surbiton. They finished above us last season but this win is our biggest over our redoubtable South London rivals since the season of 2004-05 when the margin was also four boards.
Alan Perkins, Veljko Stanisic, Martin Smith and I were our winners and we were helped by a Surbiton default against Sainbayar Tserendorj on board eight. Adrian Ociepka and Simon Randall contributed welcome draws.
Our record in the Thames Valley league reads: Four matches played, three of which were victories and one of which is undecided and currently stands at 3.5 points each.
