Lightning Tournament - 26th August

: Created:15 Aug 2010 , by

Our Annual Lightning Tournament takes place at the Harvester on Thursday 26th August. Players in our lightning version have ten minutes each and play as many games as they can fit into the evening. Speed around the room is as important as speed at the board!

There are three first prizes. Adrian Ociepka is the reigning open champion, with Raj Jhooti and Anuurai Sainbayar holding the mid-grading (for 2010 under 160) and lower grading (for 2010 under 130) titles respectively. However it a democratic tournament so players can challenge anyone that is free in the room. There is a sort of honour code among our top players that they make it a priority to meet all other top players.

It is a fun event and lots of beer is sunk in the course of the night. This particularly evening is reserved for members and prospective members of Ealing. Our record entry is twenty-five players. Please come along and beat that record.

As always at Ealing, entry is free.
