Ealing's Hall of Fame
: Created:18 Sep 2010 , byCaptains are the foundation of a successful chess club. Two names stand out in the list of our captains since World War 2: Dale Gibbons and John Harris.
Dale was the leader of an Ealing team for twenty-four seasons starting in 1984 and ending only last year. John's record of captaincy began in 1981 and ceased after twenty times in charge in 2006.
This posting will evolve to show all our known captains. The task has been made infinitely easier by the work of the two editors of Chess Knight, Ealing's annual magazine. Adrian Laurence was the pioneer and Alastair Johnstone has developed it into the major publication it is today.
