The first team win over Harrow but Staines defeat our second and third team.

Harrow A conceded two defaults to Ealing A before play commenced at the Harvester last Thursday 18.10.07. Excellent wins by Veljko Stanisic, Adrian Ociepka, Martin Smith and Sainbayar Tserendorj put us 6-0 up. With 2.5 from three games Ealing lead the Thames Valley table.

However Staines B hold a winning 3.5 to 1.5 lead over Ealing C in the third division match held in the same room on Thursday. Harvey Grewal returned to the Ealing fold with a well deserved draw and James Pack's game is still to finish.

An impressive Staines A made it a double with a 5-1 victory at their place over our B team. Simon Healeas made a good debut and at the adjournment his game was undecided. Apart from draws by Mike Lamb and David Ebbett we were well beaten on the other boards but with thirteen matches to go it is early days. Nevertheless we will need to pick up the pace if this historic first season for our B team in division two of the Thames Valley League is to end in success.
