Ealing absolutely confirmed their second place in the Thames Valley League on Thursday.

There were two big matches taking place at the Harvester on 3rd May so spectators could be excused overlooking a significant game taking place in one corner of the room. Miguel Sanchez had enjoyed a significant advantage at the adjournment of his game but Paul Durrant turned up with determination to fight it out. Miguel prevailed and removed all statistical doubts about Ealing finishing as runners-up in the league.
Ealing finish with 10 points behind Wimbledon who have 10.5 and still two games to play (Surbiton and Maidenhead). It will be interesting to see how Wimbledon fare at Surbiton but whatever their result the positions will not change because Surbiton cannot record more than 9.5 points in total from the season.
