Our graded tournaments have been a runaway success giving club members meaningful chess during the summer months.
Peter Sowray will be giving his very popular annual chess demonstration on September 5th. Mikhael Tal and Bent Larsen have featured in past years but who or what (Houdini?) will feature, will remain a mystery until the day.
John Quinn, former British under 21 champion will be giving two displays, one for seniors and one for juniors.
And we will fit in our annual Lightning tournament with three first prizes dependent on grade. Members pay no extra charge for these events and annual subscriptions remain at £30 per annum for members (69 pence per week) or £10 for the non-working.
