Women's World Championship
: Created:30 Sep 2013 , byHou Yifan recaptured her championship very comfortably.
Anna Ushenina, the reigning champion finished on the wrong side of a 5.5-1.5 score line. According to her own second she thought too slowly and got into time trouble. Losing twice with White in a short match was a disaster for Ushenina.
Yifan's victory confirms her supremacy in the women's game but although she has bravely tried her hand in the open tournaments she has to find 150+ grading points to compete with the men. She is still young but experience says that if a woman is to bestride the world at chess, an even younger generation will have to put forward their talents.
