The First Game in the World Championship

: Created:09 Nov 2013 , by

Today's 16 move draw between Anand and Carlsen is a strong contender for the dullest game in world championship history. Carlsen met Anand's Grunfeld Defence with a double fianchetto and by move eleven those spectators who had not already fallen asleep were predicting an early repetition of moves.

The early signs are all in favour of Anand. He appears well-prepared and importantly in excellent physical shape.
