Chess Computers
: Created:12 Dec 2013 , byLike us ordinary folk computers disagree in their assessment of positions.
In my ignorance I believed that chess computer programmes were so accurate that within a few decimal points their judgements would be similar. Wrong!
OK, their work today at the London Classic on the Susan Polgar website was based on 3 seconds thinking time. Houdini, Komodo and Stockfish gave their opinions and there were differentials of over 1.20. It was my impression that Komodo and Stockfish were much closer in their thinking to Houdini so perhaps there will not be an exchange of Christmas cards between Houdini and its computer rivals.
