Metropolitan I 3 Ealing I 5

Ealing achieved a good win over Metropolitan on 10th April and now have seven points from twelve matches.

Miguel Sanchez and Mike Lamb recorded solid early draws and when Simon Randall and I, followed with wins on boards two and five it looked as if Ealing would score victory by a wide margin. However Metropolitan rallied strongly and it looked nip and tuck for a while but when Gary Smith drew on board eight for Ealing and Martin Smith shared the point after a very interesting struggle on board one, we knew we could not lose.

Sainbayar Tserendorj went down on board four fighting to the end but next door on three Adrian Ociepka rounded things off nicely for Ealing by advancing a dangerous passed pawn on the e file while closely guarding his opponent's passed pawn on the d file. His opponent's pieces and king fell back in disarray giving Ealing a two-point winning margin.
