Richmond A 4 - Ealing A 4

: Created:16 May 2008 , by

Ealing's final match in the 2007-08 season, resulted in an honourable draw at Richmond.

Simon Randall, Sainbayar Tserendorj and Syrym Shalabayev took advantage of the White pieces to record valuable victories for Ealing. Simon Healeas added a fighting draw and I contributed a lazy grandmaster style draw that ensures that I will never be invited to any tournaments that have an audience.

Table

1. Ealing 11 points from 14 matches

2. Kingston 8 points from 14 matches

3. Maidenhead 7.5 points from 13 matches with one undecided match versus Surbiton which they trail 2.5 - 3.5

4. Surbiton 7 points from 13 matches with one undecided match versus Maidenhead which they lead 3.5 - 2.5

5. Richmond 6.5 points from 14 matches

6. Wimbledon 6.5 points from 13 matches (one match to finish)

7. Hayes 5 points from 14 matches

8. Harrow 2.5 points from 13 matches (one match to finish)

So Ealing achieve a handsome victory in the Thames Valley league and last year's promoted clubs, Hayes and Harrow go down.

We congratulate Staines on their elevation to the first division and believe that puzzlingly, Wimbledon B will be the other promoted team.
