Without wishing to count chickens etc., Ealing B look handily placed to win their second match of the season after a solid perfomance away to Hounslow. The brothers Shalabayev both delivered the full point, with typical 'shock and awe' tactical elan from Syrym and a more measured siege from Salim, which proved equally effective. Michael Turp notched a debut victory with an smoothly impressive display on board 3.

At the close, Chris Greenshields has the exchange and the initiative for a pawn in a game that has surprisingly gone to adjudication. Fritz is sanguine about Chris's prospects and given adjudication eliminates the possibility of human error, it is hard to see anything other than a win being decreed.

Board 4 is to be continued. Material is level, but Simon Healeas has a more active bishop and a freer position. Lastly, on Board 5, a gross blunder by yours truly on the final move in the session (@*?!!) has transformed a simple win into an as yet unresolved game.
