World Champion Magnus Carlsen won the second game of his title match against Viswanathan Anand. He leads 1.5-0.5 in their 12 game match in Sochi. Sainbayar Tserendorj is Ealing's man in Sochi and he will have been impressed with the way Carlsen built his attack today.

The London Classic 2014

The Super Six Classical tournament is scheduled to begin on December 10th and end on December 14th. Fabiano Caruana will be the highest graded player on view (2844).  By the time the event takes place another participant, Viswanathan Anand may well be world champion again.

Akshaya Kalaiyalahan at the 2014 Olympiad

Akshaya is one of the most promising juniors in the country. She has played for both Ealing's junior and senior sides. We congratulate her on her performance at the Tromsei Olympiad for the England team on board four. If I am not mistaken Akshaya is the first Ealing player in its 125 year history to represent her country at an olympiad in over-the-board chess.
